I just got my TuneTalk and 5thGen iPod video prior to teacher workdays in Whiteville, NC.

    Love it!

Two lessons learned: The TuneTalk has such sensitive mics, before for talking on my recording, I press record and not say anything for 4 seconds. Then, record. Ofter saving the .WAV file, open it in Audacity and use the “noise remover” feature. I did not try it on my first recording, but plan to on my next one. The Griffin lapel mic works “fair” with the TuneTalk, but the greatest advantage, it that teachers can clip on the lapel mic, hit record, stick the iPod in their pocket, and move around a classroom and interview students. The difference in the sound quality adds a “telephone interview” ambiance. There is something about the knowledge of having the iPod safely zipped in my pocket with multiple sticky fingers around. “Out of sight- out of mind”.

Idea for a future show- would love to hear how you might use the iPod’s video for professional development. Might be a great tool. I have to train our teachers to use UnitedStreaming and already have tried projecting my slideshow using Keynote slides on a digital projector.
