Many, many thanks for sharing this via podcast Bob! I had not had a chance to hear Marc Prensky speak, I had just read some of his work online previously. I am inspired! I posted some reflections on this to my blog. One overall thought is, that as long as school curricula continue to be defined by a desire to have coverage in BREADTH rather than coverage in DEPTH, Marc’s vision of educational reform will be significantly hampered. I think many teachers feel tremendous pressure to COVER THE CURRICULUM, rather than engage students in interactions and dialogs that matter, and which they truly care about.
Great message. Hope you reflect on this too and post those ideas (as well as the ideas of others who attended the conference) as a podcast. Maybe you could have a roundtable debrief of the keynote and podcast it!
