I also liked the quote regarding knowledge workers, “if your employer has to pay for you to have a boss, then you are too expensive!”

I’ve been listening to bit by bit lately and learned about your kids podcasts. I’m wondering how you decide what you’re going to read, blog-wise, listen to, rss and ipod-wise, etc. It seems overwhelming to me — I’m sure I could while away the hours flitting from one thing to another. but, beyond the obvious, of look for what’s important to you, do you have any time management suggestions?

Ah Suzanne! So many Blogs and so Little Time!
Actually, I was just talking about this today with a friend. Part of what helps me (and you’re right: it IS overwhelming) is my learning network that I now have in place. For instance, I am loyal to a “core” of about 20 blogs, and those good folks will cover many things that I might have otherwise missed.
Twitter’s been helping lately too. People will start following me and I will go to check out their site and find something of interest.
RSS is great for tailoring info to come to me… such as searches in Google News.
Of course, I miss tons out there, but I don’t worry about that… I “feed” upon that which I stumble upon or am offered by my community.
Bit by Bit, I’ll have a pretty good meal!
