This week we started A Street Through Time. Every page has a different time in the book. It shows different ways how people lived. There are 14 time periods in the book. We are on the second time period. That is the time period that the first farmers lived. We use magnifying glasses to get information. We read the text around the page. That is one of the things we did this week.

Another thing we started was Cinquain poems. Cinquain poems have 2 syllables and one word on the first line. On the second line is the description of the first line with 4 syllables and two words. On line three is some action about the title which has 6 syllables and three words. On line four you put the feeling about the title which is 8 syllables and four words. Line five is the synonym (similar word) for the title with a 2 syllable word.

We also started "Zoombinis". It is a computer game we played. Everybody enjoyed it. It's a really fun game. It's about using your head. You make these blue alien things and you have to get through patterns. It's a really fun game.

Finally, this week some kids offered their recess and lunch to brainstorm ideas to help the tsunami victims. We are going to ask Ms. Horn if we can do a fundraiser and donate the money we get to the Red Cross. That's an organization that helps the tsunami victims. We hope we can help the tsunami victims. That's what we've been doing about the tsunami.
