This week we did Friday
Letters about inviting our parents to student-led conferences. The student-led
conferences are when you talk about Conference Reflections, NWEA (assessments),
and Portfolios.
In Computer, we
did TYPE TO LEARN. TYPE TO LEARN is when you learn how to type new letters
faster and without looking. And we also learned a new game called CYBERCHASE.
That is when you can play games like math games and solving puzzles and
patterns.
We had a mock election
for the 3rd and 4th grades. Bush won the mock election in our school but Kerry
won the election throughout the Maine schools. They set it up like a real
election. About 400 schools voted. Bush won the real election because Kerry
conceded.
This week we also
started CURSIVE. We have been learning the letter "a". We have been learning it
by a program called LOOPS AND GROUPS. We've been working on CLOCK CLIMBERS. We
have a drawing of a clock which we trace, according to the directions. Then the
clocks keep on getting smaller, until we have no clocks at all. Then we try to
do many "a"s in a row. That is what we have been working on with cursive this
week.
