Reading on the Internet by Mr. S
When reading on the Internet
the first thing you must do
is find out if it’s really real
find out if it is true
Some writers will exaggerate
Some info might be wrong
You have to dig much deeper
It doesn’t take that long
Is it fact or an opinion?
A comercial or an ad?
Can you really trust the writer
like you trust your mom and dad?
One source, I must tell you,
is simply not enough
Find three or four to back it up
be diligent and tough
Wikipedia is great!
a real good place to start
But then you have to prove it true
Take the article apart
Look for experts who have credit
who have stood the test of time
Use sites that can be trusted
Be cautious where you mine
Look carefully for clues
found in the site’s address
Most links should work just fine
not lead to “Error” mess
An author’s name’s important and
what date was it created?
Another thing to look out for:
when was it last updated?
When reading on the Internet
there’s so much you can find
as long as you are reading with
a sharp, detective mind
