Student News: March 11, 2005
by the Students of Room
208This week the 4th graders were
taking the MEAs. The MEAs are a test that you take in 4th, 8th, and 11th grade.
They have all the subjects and are very fun. Meanwhile, the 3rd graders aren't
just sitting. They have been doing lots of Math. In Math, they were doing
parentheses math problems. Also, they were doing Literature Circles on a book
called, A River Ran
Wild by Lynne Cherry. We had lot of fun doing MEAs
this week.
Next, we have been reading
From the Mixed up Files of Mrs. Basil E.
Frankweiler, by E.L.
Konigsburg.
So far we have found out that Jamie and Claudia
ran away and went to a museum and they're finding all different things like a
bed they saw and decided to sleep in. Claudia read and it said someone was
murdered in the bed. Also, we figured out that a statue called "Angle" might be
a piece of art by Michelangelo. The book is by E. L. Konigsburg. It won a
Newberry Medal.
Another thing that happened [recently]
was [that] a guest reader came to our class and she read a book called
Touch the
Moon, by Marion Dane
Bauer
. It was a good book about a girl and a talking
pony named Moon
Seeker.
Finally, this week, we had a two hour
delay. Some of us played in the snow before school. The Kindergarten [students]
did not go to school. We also got to sleep late and eat, watch tv, and read.
That is what we did this week.
